My son-in-law bought one of these a while ago and recommended it to me. I bought one, and like it pretty well. I was hoping I could just drop the phone in the cradle, like I did with my old Palm Pilot, but it takes more concentration than that. I broke a case horsing it into the charger, and getting the plug between the case and the phone, instead of the slot. It is really handy, and keeps things organized. I priced them locally and RS wanted nearly $50 for it, but A.com was much cheaper.
I have bought 2 more for Christmas presents.

Do not buy this worthless item! I bought it and it has no use. You cannot plug in an audio cable when it's mounted and there is no pass thru audio when it's mounted. I contacted Kensington and they confirmed that it is just a charger and that you have to remove the ipod in order to plug in an audio cable. Who the heck needs to "mount" an ipod in order to charge it? I already have a car charger. I got this to mount the ipod in my car to power it and USE it, but you can't use it when it's mounted, because yo can't connect the audio cable. Kensington should have included an audio pass thru for it. This is a completely useless item and will go in the trash if I can't return it. DO NOT BUY!

I bought this dock thinking that because it came with an auxiliary audio cable, I'd be able to use it with the Aux In port on my car stereo. That's correct, assuming your iPod model has the headphone jack on the top. For Nano users (specifically the 5G, as that is the one I have and don't know about the other models), this is useless. The dock provides no way to connect audio from the dock to your car stereo. Thank goodness for Amazon's top-notch customer service and return policy...
Otherwise, a great product. But if you're a Nano user, stay away from this one.
